Ancient Egypt
Cats were worshipped in Ancient Egypt because the Egyptians thought they were funny. Gigantic cat head monuments were built underground in their honour (BE E1).
1990s
In December 1991, a cat was shot by a left-wing footballer (OtH S1E6).
Towards the end of the 20th century, science succeeded in fusing the head of a cat with the body of a rooster. The result eventually 'keeled over and died' (BE E1).
